Ground Floor and Cellar

The rooms on this floor are NOT accessed separately from the main house, but could be used as a separate living space for a dependent relative.  They are currently laid out as a Living Room, Bedroom, Shower Room, and Kitchen.  There is also a large Utility Room at the back which adjoins a separate Shower Room and storage cupboard.  We find this back Shower Room is ideal for washing down after a day on the beach or the golf course.

The newly installed front door opens onto a vestibule which retains some original Victorian stained glass panels and a specially commissioned replacement panel in the inner door.  The hallway provides access to the rooms mentioned above plus the Cellar, and to an oak clad staircase leading to the upper floors.

There are high skirting boards and detailed architraves, which are either original or have been replaced by specially commissioned copies.  The ceiling features original cornice and original Victorian moulded ceiling roses.  All inner doors are original with original door furniture or closely matching replacements.
